Minnesota Gophers coach Brad Stevens resigns amid sexual harassment allegations
Former Minnesota Gopher coach Brad Steinbach has resigned following sexual harassment accusations by three women, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Stevens, the longest-tenured coach in the program, has been the head coach of the Minnesota GeeGees since 2016.
He was also the head man for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2016-18.
The Minnesota Tribune reported in April that one of the women, identified only as Ms. L., told the newspaper she was a longtime girlfriend of Steinbach’s and a former high school friend.
Steinbach denied those allegations in a statement to the newspaper.
The statement said the university is cooperating fully with the women’s complaints.
Steinbach had coached Minnesota to three NCAA Tournament berths in three seasons, including the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
